Stephanie Whitfield is an associate at Park Lawless & Tremonti. She represents automobile manufacturers in consumer litigation, including breach of express and implied warranty cases involving claims arising under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Magnusson Moss Act, Business and Professions Code §§ 17200 et seq., and alleged fraud.
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Stanford University where she was an Arthur Gray Scholar and a recipient of an academic scholarship. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where she was a Semi-Finalist in the Keedy Cup Moot Court Competition and a member of the Moot Court Board. Prior to practicing consumer litigation defense, Stephanie worked for several AmLaw 100 law firms where she gained significant experience in various practice areas including technology, environmental, consumer, and complex business litigation.
Prior to her legal career, Stephanie worked in real estate first as a Deputy Director for the Brooklyn Planning Unit in the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development and later as a consultant for a Los Angeles based commercial real estate developer.
Stephanie enjoys live theater, writing, traveling and volunteering in her spare time.
Stephanie represents clients in federal and state courts in the State of California in consumer litigation in the automotive industry, including breach of express and implied warranty cases involving claims arising under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, Magnusson Moss Act, Business and Professions Code §§ 17200 et seq., and alleged fraud. She handles all aspects of these cases.
Stephanie advised a global social media/tech company on pre-litigation and litigation strategies for content disputes, defamation, security, and privacy claims, third-party subpoenas, and data requests concerning online platforms and products in APAC region.
Stephanie assisted commercial business litigation teams in separate actions defending global digital retailer and financial software company in consumer mass tort arbitrations concerning novel privacy claims related to smart home technology under multi-state wiretapping laws and consumer fraud/antitrust statutes.
Stephanie supported Land Use litigation team in environmental multi-party civil litigation under CERCLA and RCRA claims in federal and administrative proceedings.
